It is truly one of the neatest parts of "The P.O.W.E.R.F.U.L. Program."
To be able to give each child a job that they applied for (and wanted) is fantastic for both them … and ME!
Now, comes the hard part.
I will need to teach them what my expectations are for each job, because, believe me… if you teach them one way, that's how they will perform in the job for the next few weeks. So, I really need to model what my expectations are.
After announcing who had what job, we actually started the "training process."
Already, I can sense a difference in the classroom atmosphere. They are very excited.
I am very excited.
Do you know what happens when people are excited … and smiling?
They are comfortable in their atmosphere… and they learn (and take chances).
They know that I trust them with jobs that I'VE been doing for the better part of two weeks, and they feel "all grown up" that they now have an official "job" in the classroom.
I really wish that you could see what I see.
It is amazing.
By the way, not one student has EVER denied a job since I've been doing this.
The 19-year streak stays alive...
