I didn't want them to go into debt.
Most students have either 2 or 3 jobs, and simply aren't making enough money to have rent money at this early juncture of the school year.
As their financial advisor, I am teaching them how to budget, and certainly it is working ... because they are realizing that things don't just come "free" in life.
I love it, because it gets them thinking about how they can save their money (the 1st "interest day" is coming up soon), and more importantly how they should follow directions ... so they don't lose valuable money that they're going to need in the future.
Isn't that what life's all about?
Choices about where to live...
Choices about what to buy...
Choices about how to behave and follow directions.
I can tell that most students want to just "buy" a seat, and get even MORE extra income without doing the TOO much extra work.
My plan is working.... it just takes a little bit of time.
Patience is definitely a virtue.
