For you to be there.
I know, because I didn't always have a father growing up in my life. Days like Christmas, and birthdays, and every other celebration were tough. Very tough.
However, over the years, I've learned to just be there for them. Look them in the eye. Have a conversation. Turn off the electronic game. Play. Pay attention. Have fun.
Your students want the same thing… every second of the day.
That's why The POWERFUL Program that I do in my class IS so powerful…. it gives the students a sense of community, a sense of belonging, a sense of comfort. They all have jobs, get paid, spend and give their money… but it's really more than that. It shows them that I care, and want to be there.
Merry Christmas, everyone… and enjoy just "being there."
